We are very excited to announce our 2011 rugby offseason training options!

Building on the outrageous success of our 2010 Off-Season training programme (video above), we have now expanded the programme to offer three options for players:

  • Off-Season Training Camp [21/22 May and take home a 12-week programme]
  • Off-Season Training Programme [30 May - 19 Aug]
  • Saturday Morning Metabolic Thrashing [pay-as-you-play every Sat 04 Jun - 15 Aug]

More information about the Off-Season Training Camp below!

Off-Season Training Camp

The off-season is your one chance each year to make gains – to build the power, strength and speed you need to dominate your opposite number when you step back onto the pitch.

…but we’re constantly hearing from players who know they need to train, but don’t know how to piece it all together into a single cohesive plan.

Our ‘Off-season Training Camp’ solves this problem: Two days of intensive coaching at our facility to teach you the skills you need and then a 12-week plan to take home and execute at your park & gym.

Our staff have years of rugby coaching & treatment experience – from Tigers, Gloucester, Edinburgh and Cambridge City & University squads. We have used all of this knowledge to put together (what we hope is) the ultimate 12-week off-season programme for a rugby athlete.

The camp is fully practical – you will take part in Power, Strength, Speed, Agility and Metabolic Sessions. A nutrition seminar and a training plan Q&A give you the opportunity to lock down the knowledge you need, and we will also teach you a range of pre-hab, dynamic warm-up, core stability and recovery techniques.

The camp ends in a massive metabolic thrashing around our world-class S&C facility – flipping tyres, dragging sleds, strongman carrying, grappling, sprinting and lifting – followed by a celebratory Hog Roast/ BBQ to mark the end of the camp.

FAQs

Who’s it for? Can anyone do it?
Absolutely anyone from Colts-ish age upwards through Seniors (from 16 years+ realistically) who wants to improve their performance for next season. You don’t have to be affiliated to a club, development group or squad – but most will be. If you’re a coach you’re welcome too!

My son is only 16 – is it really safe for him to be doing weights?
If he’s in the hands of a competent team of experts then – Yes, absolutely. He’ll be learning fundamental movement patterns that’ll reduce his risk of injury by giving him the strength to maintain his posture.

(If he’s gurning out weights in his garage unsupervised then possibly not =)

How much does it cost?
The camp costs £149 – which includes everything – the two day camp, the 12-week programme and the end-of-camp hog roast/BBQ.

Have you got any info I can pass around my mates/club?
Yes, no worries – there’s a flyer here that you can link to, or you can download it and e-mail it around.

Can I come back and get involved in the metabolic sessions on a saturday morning at some point?
Of course you can! Just turn up and pay-as-you-play. If you want to book in with us for support at any point, then we’re always here – we can go through lifting technique if you don’t feel sure or want a refresher, we can plan out some specific tweaks, whatever you need!

This sounds sweet!!! How do I sign up?!!

Just drop us an e-mail or give us a call – we’ll do the rest. If you’ve got any questions, just give us a shout (as always!).

Get in touch and get involved!
