We have established this facility to provide a perfect environment for the development of athletic performance — we have everything you need, and nothing that you don't.
If you want assistance to perform at the very limit of your potential, we are perfectly set up to help; Our experience will minimise your injuries and maximise your performance in the shortest possible time.
Depending on your needs, our services include:
We've lost track of the number of people who are stunned by the quality and comprehensive nature or our initial assessment. There's a reason for that: it's the fundamental lynchpin of our training process. It's industry-leading and we're quite rightly proud — in fact we'll go as far as to guarantee that once you've experienced it you'll literally never train the same way again.
Why is this screening so important? Because as an athlete, you are unique.
Nobody else shares the same combination of tightnesses, strengths, weaknesses, skeletal shape, movement patterns, injury history and training history as you. This, coupled with the particular demands of your sport or event, means that you can't just follow someone else's path to elite performance — doing so would at best limit your performance, and at worst massively increase the likelyhood of injury.
Our musculo—skeletal screening gives us a complete picture of your capabilities and what your unique route to success will be. Once this assessment is complete, the path to your destination is made clear and our job is to help you to that destination as fast as possible.
As we mentioned above — you are unique. That's why we write bespoke training plans for every one of our clients. Whatever your sport and goal, we can write an off-season, pre-season, in-season or even full-year training plan designed specifically for your needs, and to fit in with your games/ competitions, training days, holidays and more.
Our bespoke training plans include stretches, mobilisations, specific warm-up and/or coool-down activities, nutrition, weight training, cardio sessions, agility work and more.
We can work with you to set suitable goal points along the way, and we'll frequently review progress and update the plan to ensure that you're always on track for success.
Whether you're looking to lose fat whilst maintaining strength & muscle, wanting to gain size without getting fat, needing to make a given weight without losing performance, or simply wanting to optimise your food to promote recovery and increase performance, we've got the track record to help you.
We specialise in tailoring our nutrition guidelines to your needs and really helping you with the practical side of how to integrate that into your life without going insane.
If you're a rugby playing looking to put on lean mass, how are you going to eat six meals a day without spending your whole life cooking? If you're a working mum and part—time athlete, how are you going to organise your food around the needs of your job(s) and family? We've got bags of experience to help.
A massive component of sporting performance and injury prevention starts with how you organise your feet on the floor when you're changing direction, accelerating, decelerating and jumping. If you've never encountered our agility coaching before, then prepare to be surprised by the massive benefits that you can gain from it.
We can teach you how to gain vital inches in your vertical jump, to maximise your acceleration, to slash huge chunks of time off of agility tests, and can teach you how to stop, turn and accelerate away faster than anyone else on your field/ court/ track.
Also, if you know what tests your squad is using for selection criteria, let us know and we'll teach you how to ace it!
One aspect of strength & conditioning about which we are particularly passionate is the the athletic development of young athletes. We believe that the key to a high performance low—injury career in sport is to establish the correct movement patterns, training methods and core stability whilst the athlete is still young.
All too often, we have seen (and fixed!) the result of athletes who specialise too early in sport — it can lead to imbalances and poor movement patterns that become career limiting injury risk factors.
By working with young athletes (10 years plus) to ingrain the fundamental skills they need for sport — movement patterns, stability, flexibility, speed, nutrition etc., this sets the best possible platform for them for when they reach the sufficient level of maturation to enable them to train with weights for strength, power and performance.
To be entrusted with the development of young atheletes is not a task that we take lightly. We believe it is so important that we have poured a significant amount of time and effort into devising a scientifically valid system that fits in with the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) schemes of every sport and that adapts to the different and changing maturation levels of each young person.
Because of this, we currently work with a good number of young athletes to put in place the basics of how to train, how to move, even how to eat and rest. We also advise and provide coaching for a number of schools, councils and clubs to help them to put our techniques into practice.
When your body is capable, there are few things on the planet that can develop athletic strength and power faster than the Olympic lifts.
Sadly however, all Olympic lift coaches are not the same; there are relatively few coaches out there who really have the knowledge and experience to coach them properly. Furthermore, if you're performing them incorrectly, you can ingrain poor movement patterns, limiting performance and increasing the risk of injury
We're extremely proud that our Olympic lift coaching is amongst the best in the UK. We've got a track record of teaching everyone from absolute beginners through to expert lifters who have picked up quirks and bad habits.
The bottom line is this — if you're not able to lift at least 2x bodyweight in the deadlift and 1.5x bodyweight in the squat, then you're not strong enough to perform well and to minimise injury. ...and to be truly elite, you may have to be a lot stronger than that. We can help you to get that level, fast.
When it comes to fitness for sport, the key to success is 'specificity of training'. Your body is an incredible machine that quickly adapts to the training stimulus that you give it, and becomes more capable at that specific activity.
Because of this, when preparing for an event or sport, the type of fitness work that you undertake is absolutely critical. Furthermore, if you're trying to gain lean mass and/or lose fat, then you could be massively limiting your progress by making choices of metabolic work.
Our programs use the combination of proven sports science techniques plus our experience to get you fitter, faster, every time.
Of the hundreds of people we've helped to fix injuries, a massive proportion of their problems have arisen from poor movement patterns, muscle imbalances and lack of suitable strength.
As part of your ongoing training with us, these issues will automatically be corrected — and if an injury does occur spontaneously, our on-site therapists can help you to get back on track as soon as possible.
For example — if you turn up to the centre one day, you feel a bit 'niggly' and we've got a spare therapist, we'll set him/her on you to strap you up, stick their thumbs in you (or whatever it is that's necessary) to get you up and running and to gain maximum peformance out of your session. Alternatively, if for example your screening tells us that your hips and back are massively tight, you can see our therapists to get that sorted before you begin the performance coaching.
If you need it, we can film your movements and can annotate that film with movement tracking points. This system enables us to break down any techniques that are critical for your sport, to work with you on how to extract the absolute maximum performance out of those movements.
Our job is to support you and your coach by keeping you injury free and optimising your body for the unique demands of your sport.
We absolutely understand how important it is that the strength & conditioning work that you do should 'fit in' around the demands of your sport—specfic training and competitive calendar.
We're very much used to liasing with coaches, discussing their needs, your needs and ours and helping to put together a plan that works for you.
